Bitter

The beginning of a new song. It's not short, but it's only the intro.
I'm not so patient to finish it and then show it.
But surely I'll finish it, when I got time.
Thanks.

One Serious Song

Created some time ago for the Stormrider project. I've tried to put in some '70 police-series feel into it, since the subject of the lyrics could have been derived from a '70-s police series episode plot. The vocals were deliberately mixed to background with a lot of reverb added to them because this is designed to be played REAL LOUD! (so you can actually hear what's being said, and be blasted away by the instrumental bits in the process!)

Mohawk

I wrote this song in 1994 when looking at the movie "mohawk"
here is the text

Brother deer sister moon
join the border between you
if my grave is the sky
I'll dig high
just wait me

Like an arrow flying straight
like a long gun through my eyes
if my grave is not far
I'll run
just wait me

And like the clouds / old sparrows fly
like the warriors / my people died
and their souls / all walk around and say
MOHAWK

As the creatures of the night
they've been fighting while being blind
in the cold wind blowin'high
I'll join you
just wait me

They've been mocked one by one
just ya’ can't say who's the last
in the river flowing plain
they float
they wait me

And like the clouds / old sparrows fly
like the warriors / my people died
and their souls / all walk around and say
MOHAWK

the performance is from the Original Kat Acoustic (OKA) Band
formed by Mr Cauboi (guitar) mesanotte (sax) Paco (percussions) and me (guitar and vocals)

let me know, jack

Triebe und Leidenschaften

As this site still is called „BANDamp“ and not „NERDamp“, this is real band work. We regret that many of the „bandampers“ dont even play an instrument (a computer is for sure no instrument !!!) Respect to all those who put effort into actually playing in a band. You know all the difficulties of making and composing music with other people. Composing doesnt mean looping drumpatterns with your downloaded music programm.
Its not our intention to say that we are the best band. We know we ve got lots of things to improve and that there are many many people who are better than we are, but at least we try our best to make music.
That were the criticisms ... ?

This is the second version of a song we first recorded quite some time ago.
We hope u enjoy it and please, criticisms are very welcomed and wished

Burning Within

Hmmmmmmm, let me see. This is loud, aggressive and obnoxious.(says the wife) Everything I look for in a tune. Anyways I wanted to make another punk song since my last couple were all mellow. The clean guitar riff in the break is actually a couple of my buddies riff that they would jam out to around the fire at their backyard get togethers..so it has sentimental value and I used to love hearing them play over it.... so I just had to use it.This is 100% effect free, just plugged the guitar, bass, and mic in and let it rip. Then I adjusted the levels after I recorded everything. I didn't create the drums this time I used some loops I found.

Feel free to tell me you hate it.... or if you like it

Burning Within

I feel this rage inside of me, eating my inner lining
continuously feeding, consuming the man I used to be
Weakened by our society, dictating to me
digesting my hopes smashing my fuckin dreams

Chorus

It stops today if we all stand up
Come on everybody fight the good fight
Wash away the guilt that you feel
For our children we musnt kneel
United we stand conquering all
World Peace for the existence of man
World Peace for the existence of man

Is it for my father? Am I unhappy with the world?
sick of the fighting, tired of the senseless killing
Taking life for granted, we dont give anything back
I must ask... can we leave this to our children? It's No!

*chorus

Instrumental

Everyman has his breakin point, well mines today
no longer lack the courage time for me to be brave
Through the eyes of a crying child I see my destiny
time for me to go son, why Daddy why? oh why!

*chorus

If I .....

This was in my opinion the best effort that was put together by me and my crew of mates in our recording spree. Top notch performances all round from everyone, nicely laid out and well played. I love this tune because it was written by my and my old bassist John @nodge' Buckley waaaaaaay back in the days of our first bands and it somehow lingered on in different forms until we laid it to rest in this recording.

Its a song about regrets i guess. People always come back to me and say something new about it. People get different vibes from it and for that im really glad.

Thanks to Alan on Bass, Shane on vocals,Dekki on drums again and of course Mick my engineer. I say "MY" because he's been with me ever since we started making music, always there to tweek the sound till its squeaky clean. Believe it or not but he gave 4 hours of his life setting up the sound of the lead guitar at the end of the tune. (which accidentally got erased at a later point!OOOOPS) So this one is dedicated to all his hard work over the course of the recording project.

Hope you enjoy

Yellow Lines

Instrumental track taken from Shedidntcome's latest CD "Music for Noplaces".
This one was part of a complex installation in which the multiple identities of "no places" in architecture were exhamined. There was a photographic work by Antonio Tascino also on the same argument exposed in Naples, Italy, from September 2006 12th to 18th.
Yellow Lines are the delimitators of noplaces such parking areas, highways and so on.
The concept was to express this borderline in music.
Other tracks from "Music for Noplaces" are available on http://myspace.com/shedidntcome and, very soon, on http://www.shedidntcome.com

Lady

My Wife, Linda (Nakedtoes4me on here) is a constant source of inspiration for me.... Simply by being her loving wonderful self, she has me singing, and writing songs in her honor all the time...

This is one such inspired song.... Just watching her, this came to me... I started on it at 10pm last night, worked on it for about an hour, and then came home from work today and finished it up.. It's a little rough, but for my level of playing and singing, and the fact that it's my first time using Acoustica Beatcraft to make a drum track, I think it came out well... Hope you think so too..... I was happy to see she was pleased.. and that is what truly matters with this song..

please comment and vote accordingly.. thank you....

Small Minds

This is a new style of music I’ve been developing for a while now. There’s 4 different parts to it. The first track is what I call a “cage” track, which is basically a midi propelled rendering of some tweaked piano tones. Then there’s also 2 separate vocal lines doing what I call a “twin lead” (not so much harmony as two different lyrical lines). Finally there’s an electric guitar track.

Its me doing everything here on the demo. Right now I’m in the process of looking for a couple of singers who would be interested in forming a band to play this kind of music.

There’s still a few problems with both this one and the other one that I recorded (mostly with the secondary vocal line) but on the sum of it I think it sounds good. Mostly I’m trying to figure out a way to get it professionally mastered without it costing me an arm and a leg.

Diamond Eyes

I wrote this quite recently. My friend Adam Throp helped me record it. He's mega at this kinda thing...

Lyrics

The city sold me lies to help me sleep at night
My soul was freed because I tripped into the light
And now I laugh when they tell me that I'm free
This isn't how I wanted my next life to be

I want a way to turn back the clocks
I wanna see the skies
I see my train but I don't know where it stops
Now I see your diamond eyes

I hope we find a way to get back what we need
So all my brothers and my sisters will be free
Sometimes I feel like the world is full of fools
I can't cheat at the game cos I don't know the rules

I want a way to turn back the clocks
I wanna see the skies
I see my train but I don't know where it stops
Now I see your diamond eyes

Bound

Vocals peak like mad (dang mic). It's a song about being in a relationship for so long that you're utterly trapped. Hence "We are not one, we are bound". Recorded in Logic Express, one acoustic DI'ed and treated in Guitar Rig in Garage Band. Vocals through the built-in mic on the laptop, that's why they peak so badly. Must've driven the neighbours mad recording this in the kitchen. Drums were just a loop. Bass is the acoustic with an Oktaver to drop the pitch.

But, my God, do I love Guitar Rig :) Don't forget to vote!

Lyrics:

Well if you showed me the way
You know it wouldn't have hurt
If I'd just buried my pride
and followed my heart
reined in my mouth and not given so much away
I know I'd have more cards left to play

If on the 4th of july it all should ignite
And all those tiny grievances should run in the light
We'll give them life of their own
And a birthday to stay drunk on
And a thousand excuses to walk home alone

We are not one, for we are bound
to fall on down

Well if you showed me a way I'd try not to bite you
It's been kind of hard to get to like you
I'm not gonna break and run
but I've got ways and means
So if it goes any further you've got yourself to blame

We are not one, for we are bound
to fall on down

This song is about the point you realize you have become just as society that surrounds you...the point where you want to make a change in your life so you avoid falling into the filth that is the human race.

minatono yoko reply

this is a tribute to Downtown Boogie Woogie Band, the gods of 70's JAPAN rock scene:hundreds of hit singles.

The original song, Minatono Yoko yokohama yokosuka is one of their big hits. The song is a collection of stories about Yoko told by bar tenders, pimps, yakuzas and so on.

This song is a reply. Here is the lyrics traslation. Hope you enjoy!

Who is it? A guy asking around about me? I don't like it..
Ahh.. those days... things happend those days.. Mari's client was really persistent. So I just showed gentle side of my face, then he became impossible.. After that? I don't know what happened. I don't really care, you know.
It wasn't easy to do a business in Yokosuka. Johnny, Tommy, Mick, Rick, they all looked the same to me. They all had same kind of eyes.. Mayby I might have the same kind of eyes too.
A kitten was sobbing, drenched in a backstreet. I didn't think much and I just picked it up. That cat....was a strange cat. He talks. He told me about sutff. And I told him stuff too, like about the guys in the past.
By the way, I am not from minato area. I am actually from Kyoto. Will you tell the guy, yoko has returned to Kyoto where other Maiko girls and the mistress are. Well then, I'm off!

Any day

Lost all my direction
Like a feather in the wind
I lost my concentration
From the moment you walked in

Reality's perception
My illusion's wearing thin
If I’m not the man your after
I’ll always think I should have been

Loneliness my affliction
My cure was so long gone
Then I saw you on the dance floor
Dancing to the song

Chorus

All the busted pieces
Of my life are scattered round
Some are lost forever
And never will be found

In the bag that holds my puzzle
There are pieces that are wrong
They could never fit together
There’s some that don’t belong

Bartender, pour me one
Just like the other one
Tonight I’m hanging
With my old friend Jose Cuervo

Chorus

Any day any day
I’ll find a way
Just like John Wayne
I’ll save the day

I don't believe it. I've been trying to get into Bandamp for a few months, and it's kicked me out until right now.
This is my best instrumental so far, I think. All done on the Les Paul and copy Precision. Not a bad mix, I think.
Anyway, nice to get in again.

Detachment

I think this kind of sounds strange. I kind of had my headphones blown out a little more messing with this. :P I can't wait to get my new headphones.

My boyfriend helped me with this one. He touched it up a little bit, it sounds a lot better now. It's a rarity for him to do that because he's not really into my style of music. :P

Alright, I gave a little more to it, I hope it doesn't sound too bad. It kind of goes down on noteing and then back up again by one, which sounds strange to me. :P

My third edit!

Anyways, I really hope you like it, enjoy!

The beginning of a new song. It's not short, but it's only the intro.
I'm not so patient to finish it and then show it.
But surely I'll finish it, when I got time.
Thanks.

One Serious Song

Created some time ago for the Stormrider project. I've tried to put in some '70 police-series feel into it, since the subject of the lyrics could have been derived from a '70-s police series episode plot. The vocals were deliberately mixed to background with a lot of reverb added to them because this is designed to be played REAL LOUD! (so you can actually hear what's being said, and be blasted away by the instrumental bits in the process!)

Mohawk

I wrote this song in 1994 when looking at the movie "mohawk"
here is the text

Brother deer sister moon
join the border between you
if my grave is the sky
I'll dig high
just wait me

Like an arrow flying straight
like a long gun through my eyes
if my grave is not far
I'll run
just wait me

And like the clouds / old sparrows fly
like the warriors / my people died
and their souls / all walk around and say
MOHAWK

As the creatures of the night
they've been fighting while being blind
in the cold wind blowin'high
I'll join you
just wait me

They've been mocked one by one
just ya’ can't say who's the last
in the river flowing plain
they float
they wait me

And like the clouds / old sparrows fly
like the warriors / my people died
and their souls / all walk around and say
MOHAWK

the performance is from the Original Kat Acoustic (OKA) Band
formed by Mr Cauboi (guitar) mesanotte (sax) Paco (percussions) and me (guitar and vocals)

let me know, jack

Through the eyes of a crying child I see my destiny
time for me to go son, why Daddy why? oh why!

*chorus
