Blue

Just got Fruity Loops after getting sick of Logic crashing on me. This is something I've been working on to learn the ins and outs of the program. Its basically a moody, semi-ambient, pattern based piece, perhaps minimalist which is probably inspired by the likes of Cobblestone Jazz and DFlex* which I have been listening to alot recently.

Took me quite a while to structure it and I am not sure if I am happy with the way it develops yet. But let me know what you think. Forgive my laziness, I used quite a few presets on the likes of Styrus as I am just getting to grips with FL Studio. In future, expect more original sounds.

Also, my laptop seems to be doing something strange regarding its representation of stereo audio so if something sounds wrong in this respect please let me know. Not sure what it's playing at. Hopefully will sort it soon.

All comments welcome!

*If you dig this, check out the tracks "Waltz" and "Evif" by DFlex on Tiny Sticks (www.tinysticks.com) and the Album "23 Seconds" by Cobblestone Jazz.

Heartbeat Symphony

Felt like having a proper go at making a dance track a few months ago instead of my usual chilled stuff, and this is the result - not the most comlex tune in the world but got a bit of punch to it if you play it through big, bassy enough speakers.
Designed really to have lyrics over the top, but have never written any (or had anyone to sing said lyrics, had they been written in the first place). About 5 minutes long all told, going through a few different stages.
Hopefully you can tell where the name comes from by listening to it...enjoy!

From The Day...

Sorry about the title! Had to squash it up a bit as it was too many characters. The true title is "From The Day That I Was Born".
This is the 2nd song that my friend Adam Throp helped me record. I haven't posted a new one since December last year so I hope you like it.

Lyrics

Knew I'd one day leave you all
From the day that I was born
But I'll never lose my wish
Take my one shot, I won't miss

They will leave me here outside
In the cold or dark of night
When's the battle gonna start
They will never break my heart (break my heart)

They will try to take my crown
But they'll never bring me down
Diamond eyes are shining on
End the war for everyone

Hey little boy, would you like to see what's in my pocket or not?

Thanks for all the nice reviews. I'm not a singer but I've been working on it. It's much better than the other singing song I have on this site.

Aspirations

So, I've changed the title of this song in the end, which before was "He Parts, She Parts... We Part."

For starters, I'll have you know that this song has come a long way  The music from this song has existed in my head since before the "Actually" song. (In fact, if you refer to the first [Actually] post that I made a few years back, I even made a comment somewhere about how I had put another project aside in order to work on [Actually].)

Aspirations

You hang your head low,
he walks away
This was the same thing you were told, like last time.
They say 'God'll love you,'
but to us it's more like he was searching our insides for someone else.

No sleep last night,
I thought of this--
it was the last thing I saw coming:
(and I'm not sure I'll ever see you again)
'Sometimes we live, but baby sometimes we listen.'

Your father's screaming
Baby, he knows something we don't.
Your mother's sobbing
Somebody once told me,
'You just don't know what it takes.'
And you know what?
I think Somebody was right.

I came to play this game,
it buried me
I'm just no good at this or anything.
We thought that this was it,
so we felt so safe
But they're so far ahead that it looks that we've been doing everything alone.
I came to play,
this buried me
and I'm no good at anything
Take me to the places where you felt most safe,
like the empty spaces of your heart

But this is what we get for pulling and forcing Love to take the helm.

I'm not so sure I'll ever see you again,
in this part of town,
in this kind of weather
What did you expect from me?
Just leave me with my regrets and solemn reasons for not doing what we promised.

Your father's screaming
Baby, he knows something we don't.
Your mother's sobbing
Somebody once told me,
'You just don't know what it takes.'
And you know what?
I think Somebody was right.

this buried me
and I'm no good at anything
Take me to the places where you felt most safe,
like the empty spaces of your heart

But this is what we get for pulling and forcing Love to take the helm.

But I never saw London with you.
(Sometimes we live, but baby sometimes we listen.)
And I never saw London with you.
We just want to leave this town,
and get away from all these lives
Since-ended stories are just plain and boring
You hang your head down, I walk away
Maybe one day, one day...
I'll go.
