Procrastinator

wrote this in my spare time this week. I think I crammed in too many lyrics which caused me not to be able to breathe.

Yes, I know the chords are the same as Zombie by the Cranberries.

Lyrics:
Asking of myself is a crime
I don’t get what I expect every time
If I were someone else I wouldn’t mind
I wouldn’t mind I wouldn’t mind I wouldn’t mind
Asking of myself is a crime
I don’t get what I expect every time
If I were someone else I wouldn’t mind

Summertime
I’m alone in my room
And I’m angry with myself
But I’m addicted to your smell
And I can’t think
I can’t think
I can’t act
I can’t sink
And I’m starting to remember
All the things I promised you
Its five oclock and I am staring at my watch
And I have wasted all my time
And I have wasted all these years
Motivate Motivate Motivate
Procrastinate
And I’m starting to remember
All the things I’m supposed to be

Asking of myself is a crime
I don’t get what I expect every time
If I were someone else I wouldn’t mind
I wouldn’t mind I wouldn’t mind I wouldn’t mind
Asking of myself is a crime
I don’t get what I expect every time
If I were someone else I wouldn’t mind

It’s the same
It’s the same
Every day
And I don’t remember sleeping
But maybe I’m just sleeping all the time
Wasting time
Precious time
Wasted mind
And I’m starting to believe
That life is just a big joke to me
Life is just a big joke to me
Life is just a big joke to me

Asking of myself is a crime
I don’t get what I expect every time
Every time every time every time I don’t mind

Extremist

Day before school starts, and I figured I'd use my last day of summer to write a new song.

I think I should have spent more time on this and come up with a better melody for the verse, but oh well.

Lyrics:
You gotta come to your senses
To get a little respect
Cause nobody listens
To all the hypocrites
So even if you’re right
Singing your song
They’ll still accuse you
Of being wrong
Nobody likes an extremist
They don’t like the fight
maybe if they’d listen
We’d make it all right

You’re so cool
But boring
They’re all fools
And snoring
You’re so extreme
You must be wrong
They’re so serene
It’s what they want
You think so clear
But you’re crazy
They’re gripped by fear
And lazy
If every mind is a battleground
Your mind must be world war one

Set me free
Set me free
Set me free

Your mental jewelry
Is paid for by god
it’s a little rusty
But that’s what you want
They’re twisted and hopeless
So you’re building a bomb
You’re guilty yet shameless
But you’re never wrong

You’re so cool
But boring
They’re all fools
And snoring
You’re so extreme
You must be wrong
They’re so serene
It’s what they want
You think so clear
But you’re crazy
They’re gripped by fear
And lazy
If every mind is a battleground
Your mind must be world war one

You Left me Your Picture

Returned home after several weeks of college touring on the east coast, and I can get back to writing music.

This is a song that was borne out of missing my girlfriend while I was away. The lyrics turned into a slightly different meaning though, but the spirit is there. I felt quite good about this song until I realized the key is about a fourth too high for my singing, but I did my best.

Lyrics:
I remember when you left me
Carrying that big black suitcase
And I never thought
I never thought
I never thought
I’d miss you
No
But as it turns out
I miss you more than ever
All alone on a Sunday morning
Trying hard not to think about you
But I can’t
And I can’t
Cause I’m looking at your picture
And as it turns out
I miss you more than ever
Yeah

Why the hell did you leave me your picture
The one that’s sitting on my bedside table
The one that reminds me of you
The one reminding me of myself

Everything makes me think about you
From chairs to the pencil on the floor
I don’t care
I don’t care
I don’t care
Anymore
And as it turns out
I’m still staring at your picture
And I don’t remember why you left
Was it the money? I need to get it off my chest
You don’t care
You don’t’ care
You don’t care
But I do
And as it turns out
I’m still staring at your picture

Why the hell did you leave me your picture
The one that’s sitting on my bedside table
The one that reminds me of you
It’s staring back at me with long dark hair
Why the hell did you have to leave it there
It reminds me of myself

And I’m hoping that you’ll call me
Even though I know it is a lost cause
And I stare
And I stare
And I stare
At your picture
And it turns out
I don’t even have a phone

Prayer

Sorry I haven't been active recently. I've been doing alot of live stuff with my band and thus haven't had the time to write.

Here we are, a simple beat inspired by both Nine Inch Nails and Puddle of Mudd

Lyrics:
I can see that I’m dying
A little more everyday
Can’t you see that I’m crying?
Or do you think I’m okay?
And I sent out a little prayer
A little prayer for you
Do you even care?
is it all about..you?
Yeah

I do not fear
Anything but my insides
Inside of me
I’m drowning again

And I think I will wait here
Wait here for you
And I think I’m late here
Waiting here for you
Waiting for your answer
Maybe someday its true
Yes No or maybe
It’s all the same bull
yeah

I do not fear
Anything but my insides
Inside of me
I’m drowning again
And I’m praying
And I’m praying
And I’m praying
And I’m praying
And I’m praying
And I’m praying

Vanilla

Inspired by the Smashing Pumpkins. Happy with about everything except the vocals (as usual)

Lyrics:
Hold on
Before all is gone
Sterilize your thoughts
Your thoughts
Stay Clear
Keep nobody near
Make yourself
Vanilla

Come down
Get out of the crowd
Keep yourself strange
No more vanilla
Come up
Get yourself unstuck
Keep yourself weird
No more vanilla

They want
Want you to conform
Follow
And be vanilla
They feel
To keep away the fear
To keep you insane
To be vanilla
They need
Need in the machine
Machine your self
And be vanilla
Beware
Beware and prepared
Keep yourself ensnared
And be vanilla

Come down
Get out of the crowd
Keep yourself strange
No more vanilla
Come up
Keep yourself unstuck
Keep yourself weird
No more vanilla

They know
They know a life’s a joke
But they don’t care, they’re just vanilla
I see
I see you’re just a freak
But I don’t care, I’m not vanilla
We need
Need a great crusade
Against the great charade
Don’t be vanilla
Prepare
Like somebody cares
Like somebody wants
No more vanilla

Come down
Get out of the crowd
Keep yourself strange
No more vanilla
Come up
Keep yourself unstuck
Keep yourself weird
No more vanilla
Come down
Get out of the crowd
Keep yourself strange
No more vanilla
Come up
Keep yourself unstuck
Keep yourself weird
No more vanilla

Avenger 2

I re-wrote my old song Avenger as a hardcore rock song. The only thing retained from the original is the oboe line, which is played by the lead guitar during the chorus.

Lyrics:
In spite of what I say
I say it every day
I can’t get my way
I spite of what I sing
You just can’t seem to bring
Yourself to me

Why Can’t you listen
Can’t you listen to me
Why Can’t it happen
Can it happen to me?

In spite of what I want
I can’t get any thoughts
You’re sitting next to me
In spite of how I look
I Get it out a book
You won’t listen

Why Can’t you listen
Can’t you listen to me
Why Can’t it happen
Can it happen to me?

No matter how we talk
You’ll never walk my way
You’re like some brick wall
You’re not a thing at all
Just like a stone wall
You’re just passive

Can’t you listen
Can’t you listen to me
Why Can’t it happen
Can it happen to me?

White

Finally home, and I can start writing some proper music. This is another one of them creepy stalker songs (I dunno, it seems to be the theme of alot of the music I listen to).

Lyrics:
She’s walking down the stairs
Who knows if she even cares?
She turns her back upon me
Does she know I’m staring?
I fantasize about her every waking hour
Look at me, it’s I’m like some kind of creep
Don’t you think so?

You look so beautiful in white
But I do not think that I have the right
I didn’t even have to fight
So Pardon me as I step out of your light

She smiles talking to all her friends
A perfect portrait of happiness
Talking ‘bout her shoes
and what she wears
Maybe If I say something cool, something dishonest
Maybe she’ll talk to me too
Don’t you think so?

You look so beautiful in white
But I do not think that I have the right
I didn’t even have to fight
So Pardon me as I step out of your light

She likes strawberries, or so I’ve read
She’s looking for a guy; I think that’s what she said
She ties her hair back, a web of black
God get her out of my head
And Forget her

You look so beautiful in white
But I do not think that I have the right
I didn’t even have to fight
So Pardon me as I step out of your light

Out of your light
Out of your light
Out of your light

Rejected

Another one of those "I am alone in a hotel room in Houston with nothing but a laptop and a demo version of FL studio" songs. This one is dedicated to a group of people I met last week who I thought were my friends, but who were really just stringing me along.

I might turn all of these into real, live songs when I get home.

I wrote this little diddy in the car on the way to Houston using a demo version of FL studio in one 20 minute sitting. I am going crazy having not touhed an instrument in a week due to this roadtrip. I can't wait to get home and get my hands on a guitar.

Defeat

Well, I've been looking at colleges recently and its been very stressful, because I've come to realize that I'm not all that I've made myself out to be over the years. It's a big world out there, and I'm not the genius I thought I was. This song comes out of that frustration.

Lyrics:
I made a mistake
This was my break
I need to rethink
Rethink myself
I’ve known defeat

There was so much in store in my future
But now I’m little more than a creature
Everyone thought that I was such a genius
But I never had any real achievements
I’ve known defeat

I need to repeat
I need to change
I need to learn
Learn myself
Humility
Sobriety
Conformity
Learn hard work
Fix myself

There was so much in store in my future
But now I’m little more than a creature
Everyone thought that I was such a genius
But I never had any real achievements
I’ve known defeat

Separate
Separate my time
Organize
Clear my mind
I need to feel
I need to change
I need to work
Procrastinate
Know defeat

Gate

This is one of those few songs that turned out better than I expected.

Lyrics:
You left your baggage at the gate
Won’t you take me or will you wait
Will you wait

Will you wait
At the gate

We were flying to Boston
On flight six-hundred ninety three
And when we got there it crowded
Will you wait

Will you wait
At the gate

We had a layover in phoenix
Our flight was delayed due to rain
We waited there all the way to nightfall
But you had left your bags at the gate

Nine hours in a 747
You never really care just what you’re wearin’
Some say that we should have driven
But I didn’t have a car
And I didn’t feel like renting one
Will you wait
At the gate
Will you wait at the gate
Will you wait

I hope you won’t forget me this time

Someday

Another drop D tune, possibly my last one (I've gotten bored with drop D) Again I am trying a new mixing philosophy, putting as few effects as possible on instruments other than limiters and compressors to get a less muddy sound.
Well, this started out pretty good, until I put in vocals. I really ought to get voice lessons. Guitar is also terribly intonated (which I don't know how to fix)

Lyrics:
I’m gonna see
I’m gonna see the truth someday
I’m gonna see
I’m gonna see the truth someday

Some people believe
That there is more to life
Some people believe
In destiny
Some people believe
There’s something after death
But really they’re all fools to me
Fools me

I’m gonna see
I’m gonna see the truth someday
I’m gonna see
I’m gonna see the truth someday
Someday Someday
I’m gonna see
Someday someday
I’m gonna See

Some people delude
Themselves in fairytales
Some people delude
Themselves in politics
Some people delude
Themselves in themselves
But really they’re all liars to me
Liars to me

I’m gonna see
I’m gonna see the truth someday
I’m gonna see
I’m gonna see the truth someday
Someday Someday
I’m gonna see
Someday someday
I’m gonna See

I really don’t
Think I have a soul inside
I really don’t
Think I have a spirit
I really Pascal’s wager
Is a load of bull
And I really think they’re all fools to me
Fools to me

I’m gonna see
I’m gonna see the truth someday
I’m gonna see
I’m gonna see the truth someday
Someday Someday
I’m gonna see
Someday someday
I’m gonna See

I’m gonna see
I’m gonna see the truth someday
I’m gonna see
I’m gonna see the truth someday

Becoming a Machine

Another drop D song. The melody came to me in my dreams :p

I tried to reduce clipping in this one as much as possible.

Lyrics:
I’m becoming a machine
Even more everyday
Can’t you see how
My head is iron
Even more everyday
Can’t you see now
I’m becoming a Machine

I used to have some empathy
I used to have some sympathy for you But I
never think about any of that anymore
Cause am I am losing my humanity

I’m becoming a machine
Even more everyday
Can’t you see how
My head is iron
Even more everyday
Can’t you see now
I’m becoming a Machine
Even more everyday
Can’t you see how
My brains cogs
Even more everyday
Can’t you see now
I’m becoming machine

I used think I had some emotion
I used think I had some free thought
I used to think I was creative
But now It’s all transistors

I’m becoming a machine
Even more everyday
Can’t you see how
My head is iron
Even more everyday
Can’t you see now
I’m becoming a Machine

Becoming A machine
Becoming a machine
Becoming a machine
Becoming a machine
Becoming a machine
Becoming a machine
Becoming a machine

Moon

Cheezy pop song with simple chords. Enjoy!

Lyrics:
They had asked us what we were thinking
They wondered who we were
They had told us it was impossible
But he we are, sitting on the moon

And I can see where we had come from
And I can see where we’re going to

They had asked you where you were going
They had told us of all the costs
We had barely even started
Before they told us to go home

And I can see where had come from
And I can see where we’re going to

They had asked you to serve your countrymen
But really they meant to serve the tax man
They were concerned with their popularity
They were concerned with things in the news

And I can see where had come from
And I can see where we’re going to

And I remember what you said to me
When we were sitting on the moon

The Earth is setting on the countryside
The stars they twinkle in the sky
And we are sitting on the moon

Frog

I felt like writing a dissonant, angry song today. It's not meant to have much melodious quality, but I don't think its too bad. I wish I could have done more with the chorus (if you can call it that) instead of the repetitive bit I have there.

Lyrics:
I’ve wishing I could climb
Upon the mountain of good time
And see the others as they crawl below
I’ve been wishing I could see
Everything below me
But I can’t get my head out of the sand
Cause I’m just frog
I’m just a frog
I’m just frog

My head is feeling kind of full
My nose is tilted up at you
But my body lies elsewhere
I think I’ll strut my intellect
To serve myself some more respect
But really the truth lies elsewhere
Cause I’m just a frog

I’m just a frog
I’m just a frog

Everybody wastes their time
But not me I’m doing fine
Cause I’m really a hypocrite
Someday I will lose my mind
hope for something of that kind
hey then I’ll learn responsibility

But I’m just a frog
But I’m just a frog
I’m just a frog

Burner

Finally, a song I can live with. I think the mix is lacking a bit and its clipping here and there, but overall I was fairly pleased with this song. Expect to hear alot more stuff as the weeks go on, as this is my last week of school.

Lyrics:

Follow me and I will see
Where we’ll go
Come with me and we will see
How long it lasts

All I ever wanted was a sign of truth
All you gave me was some kind of youth

You burned me away
You burned me
You earned my trust
And you burned me
You have the blame upon you
You are the flame and it’s not you
You took my hand
And crushed it
You took my mind
And you lost it
I wish I could have seen it
You were a siren

Waiting on the rocks
Waiting on the rocks
Waiting On the rocks

Follow me and I will see
Where we’ll go
Come with me and we will see
How long it lasts

All I ever wanted was to love someone
All you ever gave me was just some good fun

You burned me away
You burned me
You earned my trust
And you burned me
You have the blame upon you
You are the flame and it’s not you
You took my hand
And crushed it
You took my mind
And you lost it
I wish I could have seen it
You were a siren

Go away and never come back
Go away and I don’t really want you back

I should have seen that you were just a burner

Goodbye.

Arg. This keeps happening. I write a moderatley good song, and I can't sing it correctley. Perhaps I should write songs that sound good with my singing first, then add in the rest.

Lyrics:
It’s nearing the end
And all I can think
Is how much I’m
going to miss you

you were my friend
And all I can think
Is how much you’re
Going to miss me

Can you set me free
Just make me believe
Before we say goodbye

It’s gone so fast
Faster than I can
think its ever gone

Time it passed
Faster than I could
Ever imagine it

Can you set me free
Just make me believe
Before we say goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye

Can you set me free
Just make me believe
Before we say goodbye

It’s already gone
And before we sing a song
Turn the lights out

Before you leave
Please sing along
Turn the lights out

Goodbye

Tommorow

This was a song we recorded (my band Narwhal) several months ago. I thought WillyDavidK had posted it already, but apparentley not. I just rediscovered it and found it worth posting. Credits to Peter for singing, I'm playing drums and acoustic guitar on this track, WillyDavidK is playing the keyboard, piano and synth strings, he also mixed all of this.

The melody of this song keeps getting stuck in my head, and I only with we could have recorded a better mix with better timing (I'm not a very good drummer, you see)

Dont Call on Me

Yet another good song is ruined by out of tune guitars.

Lyrics:
When you need me
I'll be there
And when you want me
I'll be near
When you see me
I'm never there
Thought I was gone
I'm everywhere

Don't
Count (call) on me
Don't
Count (call) on me
Don't
Count(call) on me

I'm everywhere
I'm everything
I'm everyone you thought I'm not

Don't
Count (call) on me
Don't
Count (call) on me
Don't
Count(call) on me

When you abuse me
I'll take it in stride
And when you refuse me
I'll never mind
When you want
to push me around
I'll be your carpet
for you to walk down

I'm everywhere
I'm everything
I'm everyone you thought I'm not

Don't
Count (call) on me
Don't
Count (call) on me
Don't
Count(call) on me

When you need me
I'll be there
And when you want me
I'll be near

Zero

Started out as me noodling on power chords. Recorded it and made it into more of a song. It's a bit out of tune and the chorus is to high for me to sing...but I didn't care enough to fix those.

lyrics:
Getting hot in the summer
Starting to perspire
And it’s driving me insane
Theres a noise out my window
But I’m too lazy to look out
And it’s driving me insane
My girlfriend she’ll be calling
But I’m too lazy to pick up
And she’s driving me insane

Starting to think I am zero
And I don’t even care
Starting to think I am a zero
And I don’t even care anymore

I think I’ll drive to the lake house
And have some fun
But I don’t’ have any gasoline
someday I will get started
Then again maybe not
Cause I don’t have any gasoline

I’m a zero

Starting to think I am zero
And I don’t even care
Starting to think I am a zero
And I don’t even care anymore

now the suns going down
But I’ve pissed away my time away
And it’s driving me insane
Now I’m starting to get tired
Yet I’ve done nothing
And its driving me insane

I’m a zero

The Great One

A song of envy. I am not at all happy with the vocals on this one.

Lyrics:
Walk in my shoes
Ride in my car
Eat my lunch
I hope you found something you liked
When you stole my life
Haven’t you heard?
You’re the center of the world
Haven’t you learned
Heaven smiles upon you and not me
Sunrise for you
Rain falls just for you
Nobody talks like you do
I guess that’s why they like you better than me

You are
You are
You are
The great one the great one
You are
You are
You are
The great one the great one

She waves at me
I wave in return
She looks at me strange
And then I know its not me shes waving at
She leaves with you
She leaves me alone
You smile and laugh
And all I can think about is how great you are

You are
You are
You are
The great one the great one
You are
You are
You are
The great one the great one

Better You’re better
Than me

Forgive Me

I had fun playing this one. I had weird volume issues with my voice recording and I"m not sure why. Heavily inspired by a local band called the Toadies (they may have been famous at around '96 or so, but I'm not certain)

I will meet you there
In the stormy air
Some December where
You remind me where
I’m insomniac
I’ll be sure to nap
Where me going today
I’ll meet you down the way

I hope you forgive me
For leaving you
I hope you receive me
We’ll remember those days
I hope you forgive me
For leaving you
But I don’t think I want to know you anymore

Pull back your hair
Think I’ll find you there inside
Be real cavalier
But it doesn’t make me any near
Deceive my mind again
You’re my carcinogen
I’ll be sure to knock
When you leave the dock again
I hope you forgive me
For leaving you
I hope you receive me
I’ll remember those days
I hope you forgive me
For leaving you
But I don’t think I want to know you anymore

It’s ten ‘oclock
You were waiting at the dock
Hoped you’d find me there
You decided what to wear
Ships are pulling in
Can’t believe just what you’re in
Hoped you’d find me there
But instead you found air

I hope you forgive me
For leaving you
I hope you receive me
I’ll remember those days
I hope you forgive me
For leaving you
But I don’t think I want to know you anymore

Why Am I here? (with vox)

Added vocals to the song, improved panning a bit.

on rolling hills and valleys
I wander still through alleys
Wondering just what I’m made for
I’m not so happy anymore

Rain it falls on me
But it keeps me dry
Cannot see my fate
I have fallen from grace

I feel so real
Yet I’m not
I feel so plain
Yet I’m not
Just what is pain?
I don’t
I don’t know anything
Anymore

Rain it falls on me
But it keeps me dry
Cannot see my fate
I have fallen from grace

Sky hear me now
I’m eager
Earth feed me bread
That’s meager
Just what is time?
I don’t know
I don’t think I know anything
Anymore

Rain it falls on me
But it keeps me dry
Cannot see my fate
I have fallen from grace

Why am I here?
Why am I….

My attempt at a bossa nova. I started to write words to this song, but it sounded far too cheezy, so I left it instrumental. Some timing and mixing errors because of the way I recorded, but overall not as bad as I would have thought. If anyone is up to add some spanish guitar or singing feel free :)

Time to Choose

This song is more of a joke than anything. I was playing around with samplers and found my old Gman samples from the original Half-life game (released in 1997). It is yet another remix of my first song "Gman", this time with unbearably weird sampled drums consisting of Gman's voice.

Arg. Well, I was writing this song, and in the middle of fixing the EQ my power went out, leaving me with an unsaved file and this old rendered mp3. So, I apologize for the messed up EQ and compression, because this is all I have.

Anyway, this was just a simple 3 chord agressive song I decided to write out of the blue.

Lyrics:
Sharpened spear under my arm
Wooden spike is piercing my tongue
Fall asleep on a bed of stone
Eat my meat and I’ll never go home
Painted caves over my head
In twenty years I’ll sure be dead
Fire burns the embers drown
And all These days are burning me down
I feel empowered, I feel like nature
I feel aggressive, I feel alone
Raise the spear o’er my head
Raise my voice, until I’m dead

We remember
We surrender
We remember
We surrender

Loaded gun under my coat
Metal rod is piercing my tounge
Fall asleep on a bed of iron
Eat my meat and I’ll never go home
Bolted vents over my head
In fifteen years, I’ll sure be dead
Heater speaks, the embers sound
And all these days are boring me down
We remember
We surrender
We remember
We surrender

I feel employed, I feel real mature
I feel repressive, I feel alone
Raise my pen o’er my head
Raise my voice, until I’m dead

I got a spear I got a gun
I got a spike I got a rod
I got a cave I got a vent
I got a life I got in bed
I got a sword I got a pen
I got a chip inside my head
I got I got no soul I got no mind
I got no wife I got to find
I got no land I got no soil
I got no man for which to toil
I am a man, I am on fire
I am a homonid

Glitch

Well, still bored and still have the flu. So I wrote this glitchy ambient industrial thing using 100 percent parts from old songs. Everything is ripped from an earlier song of mine, I just glitched it all up, reversed it, changed the pitch, distorted it, whatever, and then mashed it all up into this strange thing.

You see, recycling is a good thing!

Noodling in C

Improvising a bit in C blues. I start with a theme and try somewhat to stick to a standard 12 bar blues structure.

Not really a song. I was seeing how recording my old 40 year old wurlitzer would sound. Unfortunatley, I didn't have a long enough cable to extend my good condenser mic, and instead used a very cheap standard mic. So it sounds terrible. Also, I learned that 40 years has quite an effect on tuning. It didn't sound bad to my ear until I recorded it. Oh well.

Normal

Latest song in a while. Not too happy with the vocals, sort of sloppy, but better than alot of my stuff so I'm pretty happy with it.

Lyrics:
Rising sun shines through my window
Melanin burning me awake
I can’t get my eyes open
though the alarm is blaring me away
And I feel that I am normal
So very normal
...Normal
And I feel that I’m painless
So very painless
...Shameless

And every day
It seems the same
To me
X2
Oh what is life?
Oh what is life?
To you
When every day
It seems the same
To you

Drive to school
See many people
People I have known all of life
Wasting time
With many faces
Faces that I don’t really even like
And I feel that I’m normal
So very normal
…normal.

And every day
It seems the same
To me
Oh what is life?
Oh what is life?
To you
When every day
It seems the same
To you

Empathy

A droning pop song with terrible singing that I wrote for my girlfriend

What I learned:
Don't sing when you have strep throat.

Cheers.

LYRICS:
How do you feel?
How do you feel today?
How do you feel, today?
Do you feel perfect?
Do you feel sad today?
How do you feel today?

I wanna know cause I care
I wanna know cause I need
To know

I wish you’d know me
I wish I’d know you too
I wish you’d tell me today
Does it feel ugly?
Does it feel possible?
How does it feel today?

I wanna know cause I care
I wanna know cause I need to know

You think I don’t care
I don’t have empathy
But you mean everything to me
Do you feel passive?
Do you feel obstacles?
How do you feel today?

I wanna know cause I care
I wanna know cause I need to know

You live in a bottle
beautiful bottle of glass
But you put the lid on
Through which nothing can pass
I wish you’d tell me
I wish you’d need to share
I wish everything for you

I wanna know cause I care
I wanna know cause I need to know
I wanna know cause I need you
I wanna know cause I need to feel

Your Eyes

Testing out my new microphone...
This is a song about self-loathing. It was a bit too high for my singing range, and I'm not quite sure I like it.

Lyrics:
Every Now and then I hate myself
I can’t shield myself
From my eyes
Waiting here inside my room
I can’t survive my room
With myself

I think I want out of here
I wish that you were near
To see this
If only you’d see my face
You’d know disgrace
And you’d run

I see my destiny in your eyes
No surprise
I have no destiny in your mind
I don’t mind

Sometimes I have to sit a while
So I do not defile
The world
Sometimes I can’t believe myself
I can’t deceive myself
With the lies
I think I want you to fear
I don’t need to fear
Anymore
If only you’d see the truth
There’d be no excuse
And you’d cry

I see my destiny in your eyes
No surprise
I have no destiny in your mind
I don’t mind

Brave New World

Well, I discovered bar chords and Aldous Huxley's novel Brave New world at the same time, smashed the two ideas together and came up with this.

Lyrics:
BRAVE NEW WORLD
INTRO
VERSEI
Can you see lights at night
They come down from the sky
Striking in our hearts great joy
Yet we just want to die
In the yard the children play
Everything should be okay
Naked alone and without fear
Yet we know that the end is near

CHORUSI
Brave New World (several times)

VERSEII
Centrifugal bubbly puppy
Children are all carbon copies
Lose the news
Forget the hour
Just listen to the
Alpha power

CHORUSII
Brave New World (several times)

VERSE III
Father Mother Democracy
Now All of it is history
Read books not
And feel a lot
And hope the epsilon can rot away

CHEEZY BRIDGE

VERSE IV (outro)
Have you heard it all before?
Is this like 1984?
But it seems so far away
So there is not much let to say but
Gather round
And educate
Take the ignorance away
New world new world new world new world.

I cannot have you

This came out of my frustration of trying to write a happy, fast song and failing. So, I strummed two chords very slowly over and over until I got my frustrations out, and then said, "what the heck, I'll make these two chords into a song"

30 minutes later I have this.

Lyrics:
I dreamt of you last night
The third time all this week
You seem find me
In my sleep
But I can’t have you

I remember
all the times that were before
You looked across the room
And you know that I was sure
I cannot have you girl

You know you’re an angel
Even though you think you’re not
I’ve got your number
Yet I know my words are shot
I cannot have you girl

Cannot have you

etc...

Fog

This was a sort of spontaneous recording I did yesterday when I got out my old aucoustic guitar and tuned it. I sort of started strumming a few chords and discovered that I had written a sort of catchy chord progression, and recorded it. I added a simple lead and vocals then later synthesized bass and drumset, and it turned into this sort of simple, catchy groove.

I'm not satisfied at all with my vocals, but I think as a whole it turned out alright, (even if it is a bit out of tune)

Lyrics:
-FOG-
Out at sea
On the waves
You’re too far away
From me
Can’t see the lighthouse
Through the fog and I
Let my anchor down

Oh I’m
Still blind again
In the fog of your misery
Oh I’m
Still without shelter
Hard rock shelter at sea

Turn the bow
Towards the shore
Still thinking of
Your kiss
Cold comes in
And I rock a bit
And I Cry a bit
On the waves

Oh I’m
Still blind again
In the fog of your misery
Oh I’m
Still without shelter
Hard rock shelter at sea

At three AM I
Hear the fog horn
Its blowing out to me
But now that my
Anchor’s down I think
I’ll just wait here for a while

Oh I’m
Still blind again
In the fog of your misery
Oh I’m
Still without shelter
Hard rock shelter at sea

Sun comes out
I hear a shout and I
Still can’t see anything
Still not sure if I
Should go to shore or if
I should stay here for a while

Oh I’m
Still blind again
In the fog of your misery
Oh I’m
Still without shelter
Hard rock shelter at sea

Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Etc…

Bachenwald

This is really a break from my standard type of writing, it's a classical piece that I tried to make sound a bit like bach. Initially it was just really fast organ riffs, but I got a little carried away and replaced the organ with strings and obnoxious brass sounds.

It's a little repeditive, but it has some variation at the end.

I hope you like it.

Rockets

I was digging through my old music and discovered this song.

I wrote this two years ago for an english project where they told us to do a "stream of conciousness" poem in which we wrote random words on a peice of paper and linked them together through rhyme and rhythm.

I liked the sound of my poem so much that I wrote a song to it.

However this is a little out of time in places, and this is definatley not representative of the music I do today, still, not to shabby for random crap.

made in FL studio.

Salt Flats

Yay, I got my first guitar! (a crappy les paul)

And I decided to write a song using the few chords that I've learned over the past week (sorry if the guitar sounds terrible)

Here are the lyrics

He took a car
Out to the edge of the desert
Just so He
could drive a little while
to clear his thoughts
Going sixty-four
He tooks some curves
Out on the salt flats
Just so He
Could get some peace of mind
And clear his conscience.

He had wandered through
the desert
After all the stormy weather
Wasting gasoline
And oxygen

After what his friends had said
It didn’t matter what he did
He wasn’t worthy of their
Time, he wasn’t worthy of their air
Who’s to say they would care
If he disappeared today
They would not miss him
As a rubble heap in the sands

He had wandered through
The desert
After all the stormy weather
Wasting gasoline
And oxygen
Spitting sand
From his rear tires
Can’t recall exact numbers
Wasting gasoline
And oxygen
Driving out to the brown mountains
Where he would stay and not be found
Again
Don’t try to find him

Control Group One

An extremely long ambient track that I made as background music to a game I was coding.

It's basically just strings and ambient sounds with a synth lead and a strange vocoder guy going "control group one"

Flat Earth Society

This is a spoof tribute to those nastiest of conspiracy theorists, the Flat Earth Society, who believe the world is flat.

It is a Stylsih Headphones, Milady song, composed and sung by me. I was playing piano and singing on this, broderick was playing the bass, and chris was doing everything else.

It's still very much a work in progress, I still have an intro to include and we need to balance and work on the sound.

Lyrics:
THE FLAT EARTH SOCIETY
INTRO (note- not included in the recording)
A long time ago
We thought the world was flat
If you sailed out to far
You might as well go splat
Oh
If you were a heratic
And thought the world was round
They’d throw you off the edge
Or at least they’d hope you’d drown
Oh
If only they could see the world
From space or from afar
Then they’d know the secret that
The world is just a ball
Oh no oh no

VERSE 1
But now we have satellites
And men on the moon
So much information now
You’re fed with a spoon
Yet not so long ago
There were Fundamentalists
They got a little angry
That this might persist
Oh no.

CHORUS
It’s a conspiracy
It’s a conspiracy
The world is a disc
And its really hard to miss
Faked NASA photographs
And walls made of ice
The flat earth society
Doesn’t play nice

VERSE2
Breeding in ignorance
As the story goes
The flat earth society
Stepped on all our toes
Disregarding scientists
And every government
The flat earth society
Their lies still persist

CHORUS
It’s a conspiracy
It’s a conspiracy
The world is a disc
And its really hard to miss
Faked NASA photographs
And walls made of ice
For the flat earth society
Doesn’t play nice

VERSE 3
In spite all of evidence
Theories and spoofs
The flat earth society
Still seems aloof
Their precious bible
Can’t seem to tell the truth
Logic and reason
Are given the boot

OUTRO RANT (FADES OUT SLOWLY)
The Earth accelerates upwards at 9.8 m/s, causing the illusion of gravity
The sun is a “spotlight” which flys around using dark energy, lighting only half of the earth at a time, wobbling to cause seasons.
The atmosphere is only 150 ft high and is held in by a large “wall of ice” Nobody has seen this wall because there is a massive conspiracy dating back to the time of the romans.
Why is there a conspiracy?
We don’t know, we just like to think there is because we’re crazy.
Meteor showers are caused by rocks which the government sends up every six months to create the illusion that we’re on a round earth. They also create eclipses by sending up large cardboard cards.
Satellites are actually low altitude airplanes, and the real signals are sent by radio towers. Space is not a vaccum, but is made entirely of matter.
The moon is two dimensional, as are all the other planets, and are also accelerating upwards at the same speed we are.
The world sits upon a turtle and four elephants, which sit on an amazingly huge blanket of dark matter. Penguins are actually robots created by the government to confuse us. Magellen actually was put off course by the government and went in a large circle.
Every expedition to the south pole has actually been to the north pole, but we don’t really know it, we never can because it’s a conspiracy.
The horizon is an illusion created by atmospheric distortion, and mount everest , and every mountain that is taller than 150 ft is fake.

I didn't plan on posting this before because I wasn't very happy with it, but this is a song made on the same day as "american" using the same instrumentation.

I used a distortion pedal plus a midi keyboard for the guitar and a bass amp with filters on the keyboard for bass. Drums were synthesized.Made in FL studio 6

Xenith

Well, after showing this to Broderick, Stylish Headphone, Milady's bassist, he wanted me to post some of his original work.

So here it is, xenith, a concept peice made in FL studio.

I had no part in the making of xenith, other than attempting post compression, but honestly, it clips so badly in some parts it is beyond hope.

Still, a good set of chords nonetheless.

Othersongidea(demo)

This demo, aptly titled "other song idea", is a demo that Chris, the leader of Stylish Headphones, Milady has just sent me. In spite of being a short and simple demo, it is by far one of the most catchy tunes he has written.

Expect to hear a full band version sometime in the future. Maybe not on the current album, but this song is sure to eventually be a centerpeice.

Lyrics:
VERSE1
Like A mechanic
That does not drive
Daybreak fanatic
a little sleep deprived

like a trainer
that's not in shape
I am a dreamer
I am not awake

CHOURS

VERSE 2
Like a pilot
That never flies
It's still early now
but i've not closed my eyes

Like a narcissist
without a mirror
It's still dark outside
And I cannot see clear

CHORUS

Gman (original)

Well since WillyDavidK posted our horrible on-the-road collaboration of Gman, I suppose I should post the original.

This was my very very first song, written sometime in the abyss between 2000-2001 in a midi sequencing program, I then put it in Audacity with random phasors and other awful filters, to make this horribly lo-fi techno song.

The samples of the guy talking are from the game Half-life.

American

This is my first (individual) song in which I tried to play the instruments live. I came up with a simply groove and then made up words in a span of about 45 minutes. I only did one take per instrument, so there are several mistakes, but I think It came out alright for the experiment that it was.

The guitar is actually my keyboard with a distortion pedal and a bass amp, the drums are synthesized, and the bass is a heavily filtered midi instrument.

Heavily inspired by the band Bush

Lyrics:
Here I sit, on the top of the world
You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours too
I’m the biggest kid in the playground
You speak some up, I’ll push you down
It’s my world, there’s no future
Besides what I want
You get the picture?

Your petrodollar cycles around
It floats me up
It puts you down
But I don’t care
I never will
Until the end
Forever still

You Fuel me
I take the cash
Win win for me
Lose lose for you
You disagree
I kick you down
After all,
Your’e just a clown

As I get rich,
You stay poor
Its good for me
Cause I want more
Pull the veil
Oer your eyes
And take a hint
From my surprise
Youll never know
And its alright
Cause I’m the king
And you’re the clown
American
I am found

TACAB

Yet another Stylish Headphones, Milady song from our first album, War of a Time Unknown

TACAB stands for "Teenage Anti-Communist American Bossa-nova" And I'll have to remind you that our style is very experimental, and everything-especially the singing should be taken with that in mind.

Lyrics:
dancing, doin the waltz-hop
teenage love in a 50's malt shop
Getz and Gilberto take us to the top now
no need to worry about mom 'n' pop

dancing, doin the rhumba
gotta keep count of the numbers
no time to worry about atomic bombs or other bummers now

dance in to the fall out shelter
our teenage love will make the communists swelter
melt the iron curtain like a couple of welders

no me gusta el communista
ella hablo` "estoy lista"
pero yo se` ella no esta lista por hoy

yo vi la guerra
en la luz de su enferma
yo te amo por mi locura

no te gusta los mariacis
porque tu vivas en un hache
yo vivo en un zeta
un alfebeto perfecto
{translation: I don't like the communist
she said she was ready
but i knew she isn't ready for today

I see the war
in the light of your sickness
I love you because of my insanity.

you don't like the mariachis
because you live in a H
I live in a z
a perfect alphabet
}

(for sanitys sake i'll write the english first)
blastin eddie cochran through the phonograph speakers
kuschev and castro wearin cuban missle sneakers
with their greased back hair uelling from the bleachers of the gym

rows of houses like cookie cutters
i can't believe it's not butter
but yes i can believe it's chrome plated

field days and space races
run to catch the bus, Montgomery racists
on their way to drive-in movies

(THESE ARE THE TRUE ENGLISH VOCALS, CHRIS HAS ASSURED ME)

tus ojos son rojos
como sangre de infinto osos
pero los son bellos a nosotros

yo se eres vamiresa
prque mi sangre es en cabeza
pero es muy delicioso

ahora decir adios
tu tenia novios mi corazon esta roto

{your eyes are red
like the blood of infinite bears
but to us that's beautiful

i know you're a vampress
because my blood is in my head
but it's very delicous

now to say good bye
you have boyfriends
my heart is broken
